THE OVERWHELMING, NEVER ENDING LOVE OF GOD. 098

Theoretically, children are supposed to have it good. The intense and powerful love that a man has for his wife, added to the love the wife has for the husband, should ultimately be manifested to the child. I don't believe that the child should feel as though either parent "loves" him/her more, I believe the child should feel the summation of both parents love in ONE. When the Father demonstrates love, even through the Father's actions the child should feel the love of the mother as well; father's love x mother's love is manifested in everything that each parent does individually. Indulge me a bit and think with me. I think of a soccer stadium, imagine 50,000 fans. Often if there is an iconic, historic player that gave their all for the soccer club then among the last games that player will play for the team, if not the last game they play, the coach will do something interesting. The coach will take that player off one minute or so before the game ends, the specific reason is for the fans to give standing ovations, to cheer and really just lavish love on the player. Do you think in that moment the player thinks of 50,000 individual fans giving 50,000 individual units of love? I don't think so, in a simple way, in that moment, it think it just feels like potent, overwhelming love; love multiplied by 50,000. I don't even know if this makes sense to you, but let me say this.
God’s Love Infinite, Exhaustless—All the paternal love which has come down from generation to generation through the channel of human hearts, all the springs of tenderness which have opened in the souls of men, are but as a tiny rill to the boundless ocean when compared with the infinite, exhaustless love of God. Tongue cannot utter it; pen cannot portray it. You may meditate upon it every day of your life; you may search the Scriptures diligently in order to understand it; you may summon every power and capability that God has given you, in the endeavor to comprehend the love and compassion of the heavenly Father; and yet there is an infinity beyond. You may study that love for ages; yet you can never fully comprehend the length and the breadth, the depth and the height, of the love of God in giving His Son to die for the world. Eternity itself can never fully reveal it. Yet as we study the Bible and meditate upon the life of Christ and the plan of redemption, these great themes will open to our understanding more and more.—Testimonies for the Church 5:740
Add or multiply all the love ever felt or manifested, that love is a drop compared to the ocean of God's love for you.
"Could we with ink the ocean fill, and were the skies of parchment made; Were every stalk on earth a quill, And every man a scribe by trade: To write the love of God above Would drain the ocean dry, Nor could the scroll contain the whole though stretched from sky to sky."
God thank you for this love,
IJN

Amen! I was praying with two friends this morning and we were actually wondering on the same subject (God’s love and character). And just as the quote you brought up mentioned, we were astonish by the immensity of His Love and the perfection of all His ways. God’s love (which is also who He is in essence) is a theme that can truly never be exhausted or fully comprehended. Thank you for sharing this beautiful everlasting message!
